What Makes a Good Comic?

Published by gonzo at 8:35 pm under Comics Edit This

Another day and another post, this time quite philosophical to satisfy you deep thinkers out there. What elements are needed in the creation of a truly enjoyable comic? Is it the characters, the setting, or the deeper meaning of the comic that piques the interest of readers?

In my humble opinion the characters are the most important part of a comic. After all, it’s their lives that we’re reading about so they have to be interesting. I also believe that it’s the characters that we can truly relate to that become the most popular. I don’t mean that only bookworms bitten by radioactive spiders like Spider-Man, but characters who face problems other than invading fleets of shape shifting aliens will be more popular than the one-dimensional character every time.

That is simply my amateur psychologist coming out and I may be completely off the mark on what makes a comic book enjoyable for you. If you have a different opinion of what makes a great comic feel free to share it in the comments. That’s all for today, see you tomorrow comic fans.
