Hawkgirl, Please Retire
After watching Justice League and Justice League Unlimited extensively, I have come to a very important conclusion. Hawkgirl is the worst superhero ever. She is just an angry flying lady with a mace and I hate her.
First off, Hawkgirl betrays the entire Justice League when her home planet of Thanagar invades. It turns out she was just an advance scout for them the entire time! That is not very heroic behavior if you ask me. Plus she knocks out Green Lantern with a sucker punch after she uses her feminine wiles on her. That made me angry.
Finally, Hawkgirl just sucks as a hero. She just flies around and hits things with her mace. When it came down to it, 6 Justice Leaguers took out the entire invading force of Thanagar, each of them as strong as Hawkgirl. That gives me the sense that she has been the weak link in the group for quite some time now. She has no redeeming qualities, and I have decided that she even makes Aquaman look good. Even Hawkgirl costumes look bad. Speaking of, don’t forget to suggest a costume for my friend Billy for the chance to win a cool (as of now unspecified) prize!

Why are we singling out Hawkgirl? What about Hawkman? At least Hawkgirl has hawkboobs.

Hawkgirl just happens to be the one in the animated Justice League. I am not a fan of Hawkman either.
Listen, it’s all bs. Hawkgirl, man, aquaman, and that atom man or whateve dude all need to take a flying leap,
because they’re not superheroes…
we all know this.

i really like your blog, but i find this offensive.
I spend 40 hours a week portraying Hawkgirl and i am quite fond of her! i consider myself somewhat of an expert on her, and obviously you dont know much about her! she has a lot of cool things about her.
since the hawkgirl you were attacking is Shyera, the most recent hawkgirl, allow me to set you straight on a few things.
1. she saved green lantern on many occasions, once disobeying a direct order and taking a lot of risk in doing so. they have a complicated relationship, and her hitting him once doesnt mean shes a total bitch. they end up having a kid together for gods sake.
2. her combat skills are very advanced! she definitely doesn’t just fly around and hit things with a mace. remember that she has the wisdom and knowledge of the several lives she has lived in the past. her nth metal belt gives her superstrength, super-vision, and healing abilities (which are pretty freakin sweet powers if you ask me)
3. On the subject of the thanagarian invasion, you didnt tell the whole story. yes, she was a scout for them, but she didn’t know that their intentions were malicious. when she discovered what they were planning, she told the justice league. that act made her a traitor in the eyes of her people, and showed how devoted to the league she really was. that is a redeeming quality if i ever heard one. they let her back into the league, so obviously the other heroes saw something in her.
4. dont even get me started on the aquaman comment!
lastly, that costume is an abomination!!! it is possibly the worst one i’ve seen. obviously it (and whoever is wearing it) is not JLA approved. genuine hawkgirl costumes, like the one i wear, cost around 6 grand and look awesome. let me know if you ever want to see what an actual Hawkgirl looks like.
I will admit that this was written after watching the episode where she punched Green Lantern and I might have been fueled by negative emotion. Saying that she makes Aquaman look good is definitely an exaggeration because that is impossible to do. If you have a better Hawkgirl costume than the one pictured feel free to send it in, maybe I can work that into a post. What is it that you do that requires you to dress like Hawkgirl for 40 hours a week? I could do a job like that, I look great in a codpiece.
Hawkgirl is the sexiest member of the justice league. And her fighting skills are way better than wonder woman. If someone has to go from the justice league, it should be wonder woman.
