Supergirl Wears the Shorts in the Family
Some news making the rounds these days is Supergirl’s costume change. She now wears shorts underneath her skirt, saddening the male populace of Metropolis. Some are putting this forward as a great advancement in the portrayal of females in comics, but I think it is just practical. Plus Superman did not approve of people looking up his cousin’s skirt.
Simply put, shorts allow a greater range of movement without showing off Supergirl’s Vajayjay of Justice. I for one have always thought of Supergirl as one of the more innocent heroes around, she is like the girl next door. Who can bench press your house. The miniskirt flapping in the breeze did not convey that very well, although I will admit I never complained. For all those who are upset about Supergirl’s shorts I leave you with one thought. Powergirl’s costume has not changed. You may continue to read comics without your pants.
