Get a Job at Stark Industries

Published by gonzo under Comics Edit This

How many people have dreamed of working alongside Tony Stark at Stark industries? Then one heroic act would elevate you in his eyes and then he would give you your own suit of Iron Man armor or maybe even let you be the next War Machine! Well now is your chance to make that dream a reality. Well at least the working at Stark Industries part.

Here is a chance to work with Tony Stark, the man behind the Iron Man armor who bears an uncanny resemblance to Robert Downey Jr.

To promote the second installment in the Iron Man franchise, a Stark Industries website has been created. On this site are press releases and a job application. I am not sure what positions they are actually hiring, so I have applied for the “Creative Writing Staff” mostly because I’m hoping that will make it acceptable that I don’t know the answers to the science questions on the application. I imagine engineers will have an easier time with the application. My method was a generous helping of google search. I will keep you updated on whether or not I get the job. I’m afraid if I get rejected I will have to turn to a life of villainy, so keep your fingers crossed. If you would like to get a job visit the Stark Industries website today!

It seems perfectly logical that Stark Industries would give staff writers a suit of Iron Man armor

Miley Cyrus to Join Batman Cast?

Published by gonzo under Comics, Movies Edit This

Miley Cyrus has officially auditioned for the part of Batgirl in the next Batman movie. I don’t mind her auditioning, but I swear to God if she gets the part I will incite riots. Miley Cyrus and her Disney crap don’t belong in Christopher Nolan’s Batman universe.

Miley Cyrus doesn’t deserve to be near Batman let alone be Batgirl

So who would be a better Batgirl? I would like to say anyone, but that probably wouldn’t leave you astute readers satisfied. So instead I propose that we make Elisha Cuthbert the next Batgirl. I like her in that role. She is also quite attractive, which is always a plus. Right now I don’t really have any other ideas, maybe an unknown actress will step up to the role. Who would you like to see as the next Batgirl? None of you should say Miley Cyrus. Or Hannah Montana. I will be upset.

Who should play Batgirl?

Return to Planet Hulk

Published by gonzo under Comics, Movies Edit This

I’m sure most of your are familiar with the Planet Hulk storyline. For those of you who aren’t, it starts out with the Illuminati (Tony Stark, Reed Richards, Black Bolt, Professor X, Namor, and Doctor Strange) deciding that Hulk is simply too dangerous to keep around on earth. Coming up with the logical solution, the stick him in a rocket ship and launch him away from earth. Unfortunately the rocket malfunctions and Hulk ends up on the extremely violent planet of Sakaar and is forced to partake in some gladiatorial events. I really enjoyed this arc, and I guess it got good feedback from most because Marvel is releasing another animated Hulk movie, this time based on Planet Hulk.

This trailer was released at the San Diego Comic Con, and I have to say that I have been very pleased with the animated comic movies that have been coming out recently. I watched Green Lantern: First Flight and  loved it. I was also a huge fan of the Hulk Vs. movies. The trailer for Planet Hulk looks like it will be just as entertaining and I can’t wait for this to come out. Any day I get to see Hulk smash is a good day.

Planet Hulk should be another good animated comic movie

Megan Fox, Comic Book Movie, Bikini

Published by gonzo under Comics, Movies Edit This

San Diego Comic Con has drawn to an end and there were many highlights throughout the event, many of which I probably know nothing about since I couldn’t attend this year. I have started saving up for next year already. Deciding to go with my libido on this one, I decided to talk about the upcoming movie Fathom, starring none other than Megan Fox.

Fathom the movie, coming soonish

Now some might argue that Megan Fox is not the greatest actress in the world, and that she is merely eye candy. I would like to point out that this movie is based off a comic book about a kind of female version of Aquaman who wears little clothing and runs from the government and stuff. So basically it is going to be a movie about Megan Fox wearing a bikini. I don’t have high hopes for this movie, especially since they don’t even have a script approved yet, but I will probably pick it up once it hits the Blockbuster bargain bin. So if you really want to see a scantily clad Megan Fox, just wait for this movie to come out. Or most of her other movies actually. Hell, use the internet even, that’s what it’s here for.

Fathom will be like this, only Megan Fox will be moving and talking and stuff

They Turned Wolverine into a Pansy!

Published by gonzo under Comics, Movies Edit This

Some more news from San Diego Comic Con! Marvel has released two trailers for their two new anime series. Now I am not a huge anime guy myself, I have seen Rorouni Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho and that’s about it, so I didn’t really know what to expect. First up is the Iron Man trailer.

Iron Man looks awesome. The suit is done well, the fighting is crisp, there are lots of explosions, what more could you ask for? Good writing you say? Well Warren Ellis is working on the series so I would say that pretty much guarantees a good story. Now let’s look at the Wolverine trailer.

Before I start on a rant I would like to say that the animation itself looks very good, and since Warren Ellis is also working on this series I’m sure the story will be very good. Now that I have that out of the way I would like to point something out. Wolverine is a short and hairy man with anger management issues. He is not a tall lanky guy with a ponytail. That is not Wolverine. That is Wolverine’s younger brother who listens to Death Cab for Cutie and has never had a cigar. This is the Wolverine I want to see kicking ninja ass:

This is how Wolverine is supposed to look

I might end up checking out the Iron Man series, but the character design for Wolverine just bothers me too much.

War Machine is the Best

Published by gonzo under Comics, Movies Edit This

I have mixed feelings about Terrance Howard being replaced as James Rhodey Rhodes, but at least Don Cheadle is a good actor. I am disappointed that Howard won’t be able to wear the War Machine armor despite his words “next time”. Apparently the producers did not agree.

War Machine will have a major role in the new Iron Man movie

As they say, there is a silver lining in every cloud, and the silver lining here is that War Machine will play a significant role in the new Iron Man movie. I have always been a huge fan of War Machine, that kind of firepower is always appealing, and I can’t wait to see how he is portrayed in the movie. Don Cheadle has been active at the San Diego Comic Con, assuring fans that they will see War Machine, while Scarlett Johansson is staying quite about which side the Black Widow will be on. All in all, Comic Con is doing a good job getting me even more interested for Iron Man 2.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance Two at Comic Con

Published by gonzo under Comics, Video Games Edit This

Recently revealed at Comic Con was some game footage of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2. This game looks absolutely amazing, the graphics are definitely an improvement from the first Marvel Ultimate Alliance, and those graphics weren’t too shabby. I am very anxious for this game to come out, I think I might even be able to pry myself away from Batman: Arkham Asylum to play this one.

The story for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is also quite appealing, following the events of the Civil War story where super humans had to register with the government. I of course will be siding with Captain America and everyone else anti-registration act. Chances are I will be playing through this game multiple times to unlock all the characters and see how the story differs, so there should be many hours of entertainment from this game.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 will be a great game

Green Hornet has a Nice Ride

Published by gonzo under Comics, Movies Edit This

I don’t know how closely you all have been following the production of Seth Rogen’s Green Hornet movie, but it seems to be running into some problems. Most notably the fact that nobody has been cast to play Kato yet, despite the movie being slated for a 2010 release. I have my doubts about whether Seth Rogen will be able to pull off the Green Hornet too. He’s a funny guy, I just don’t see him as the comic hero type. That said, he got an awesome car for the movie which he revealed at the San Diego Comic Con.

Seth Rogen’s Green Hornet has a ‘66 Chrysler Imperial named the Black Beauty

The car is a black ‘66 Chrysler Imperial named the Black Beauty with machine guns, green headlights, and green missiles. If they can base the majority of the movie around this car it will be awesome. I’m sure there will be a lot more news coming from the Comic Con so stick around for further updates.

Iron Man Receives Overhaul

Published by gonzo under Comics, Video Games Edit This

Well it has been widely agreed upon that the first Iron Man game was not very good. In fact some even called it atrocious. While I did in fact enjoy playing it for a while, I have to admit it got repetitive fairly quick. It seems that the creators of the second Iron Man game have taken all the complaints to heart and have given the new Iron Man game a complete overhaul.

They promise that the new game will have more intuitive controls, the difficulty level will not be as erratic, and tons more destructible environments. An option to customize armor will also be available so you can deck out your Iron Man suit however you want. I will definitely be going the War Machine route with this one. I hope Sega lives up to their claims of vast improvement, an Iron Man game that is well done will definitely make it onto my buy list.

There’s a new Iron Man video game

Spawn Needs a Reboot

Published by gonzo under Comics Edit This

I don’t know how many of you saw the first Spawn movie. It was made back in the 90’s and was one of the most terrible movies I have ever seen. Of course I still watch it on occasion because it is so bad as to be funny, but Spawn is a character that really deserves a good reboot. Todd McFarlane did a hell of a job creating the Hell Spawn, now he just needs to worry less about his toy line and such and actually make sure a good Spawn movie is made.

Spawn needs a kick ass movie

To his credit, McFarlane has been talking to studios about making another Spawn movie. Unfortunately, McFarlane also has a gigantic ego so he wants to work with a little studio so he can direct it. I do not want that, give it to the big studio with the big budget that can afford to have good actors that aren’t in ill fitting rubber costumes. I haven’t heard any news recently about how the Spawn movie is progressing, but I won’t be holding my breath. It is a shame, the animated series of Spawn was amazing. If they could make a movie like that I know it would be a big hit.
